On Christmas Day, Kevin is initially disappointed to find that his family is still gone, although Kate arrives home and they reconcile. The rest of the family soon return after waiting in Paris until they could obtain a direct flight to Chicago. Kevin keeps silent about his encounter with Harry and Marv, although Peter finds Harry's knocked-out gold tooth. Kevin then watches Marley reuniting with his son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

But this cat-and-mouse chase turns out to be incredibly fun and lighthearted thanks largely to Kevin's hilarious brilliance. His ingenious tricks, from the Michael Jordan cutout train to the absolutely iconic "Keep the change, you filthy animal," recording, take a story that should have felt traumatic and instead chocks it full of holiday magic. Senta Moses, who played Tracy, recalled in 2020 that one of the most difficult scenes to shoot was the family's run through O'Hare International Airport to catch their flight. "There were thousands of extras, all expertly choreographed so none of us would be in danger running at full speed through the American Airlines terminal", she told The Hollywood Reporter. "And we ran at full speed. Sometimes we’d bump into each other, like a multi-car pileup on the expressway, and just crack up laughing ... There were so many setups and narrowly missed moments of disaster, but to my knowledge, no one got hurt."

Kate arrived just in time and she and Kevin reconciled as the two headed back to the hotel and Kate told Kevin that the family did not like the palm trees and having Christmas in Florida. He then arrived at the toy store during Harry and Marv's robbery, threw a brick through the window , setting off the store's alarm, and led the pair to the townhouse, springing the traps. When the duo closed in on Kevin, he fled the townhouse and called 911. Harry and Marv were able to catch Kevin and attempted to kill him in Central Park. The pigeon lady intervened and incapacitated Harry and Marv by pelting them with birdseed, which attracted the birds and caused them to swarm the Sticky Bandits, and Kevin set off fireworks he had bought earlier to signal the police.
However, Marv and Harry, now renamed "The Sticky Bandits", have also arrived in New York via fish truck and escaped from a prison in Chicago during a prison riot and discover that Kevin is alone and lost in New York City. At age eight, Kevin is the youngest of five children born to Peter and Kate McCallister and he has six cousins . One Christmas, his family leaves for Paris and accidentally leaves him behind.
Central Park – Free
After greeting everyone , Kevin walked over to the window, looked out and smiled upon seeing that Marley had taken his advice and made up with his son, thus reuniting him with his family. Suddenly, Buzz shouted, "Kevin, what did you do to my room?!" and Kevin ran away from the window. Kevin McCallister lived with his older brothers and sisters in the McCallister house in Winnetka. Being the youngest sibling he would sometimes get tormented by the others. He had enough of being tormented and being in a house with so many people that he declared when he grew up and got married he would be living alone. And as it turns out, the gorgeous family home from Home Alone is as real as can be .

Kate is overheard by Gus Polinski, the lead member of a traveling polka band, who offers to let her travel with them to Chicago in a moving van. The McCallister family is preparing to spend Christmas in Paris, gathering at Peter and Kate's home in a Chicago suburb on the night before their departure. Peter and Kate's youngest son, Kevin, is the subject of ridicule by his older siblings and cousins. Kevin inadvertently ruins the family dinner after a brief scuffle against his oldest brother Buzz, resulting in Kate sending him up to the attic. Kevin berates his mother for allowing the rest of the family to pick on him and wishes that his family would disappear. During the night, heavy winds create a power outage, disabling the alarm clocks and causing the family to oversleep.

For a whirlwind 48 hours, Kevin is going to have to do a lot of household chores in order to pay his parents back for the mammoth cost he racked up (and that's not even counting the fact we went for a cheaper room!). What he ends up with is suite 411 – one of the most luxurious rooms in the entire hotel.

Filming took place between February and May 1990 on location across Illinois. ("Kevin!") Granted, she did leave Kevin home alone , but her dedication to reuniting with her son proves she really does care, and audiences can't help but love her. It completely changes the franchise's dynamic, and you can't really figure out which side you're rooting for. Though the movie is far from perfect, Home Sweet Home Alone finally manages to switch up the Home Alone formula, giving audiences a different spin on the well-known story.

Despite not even reaching double digits in age, the first film proved that Kevin knew exactly what he wanted and wasn’t afraid of asking for it, and his impromptu visit to the Big Apple two years later only solidified this. After a less-than-pleasant stroll through Central Park, he made a beeline to a stunning five-star hotel to relax in style. After packing up our Talkboy recorder and checking we had enough turtle doves to hand out in Central Park, we set sail for the Plaza with the sole intention of living as he Kevin would do – before Harry and Marv ruined his vacation, that is. Gone are the days of green and red wallpaper and red carpeting on the stairs in the foyer – now replaced with modern grey paint and blue & white carpeting. The kitchen has also undergone some extensive work, now featuring elegant white shaker cabinets, green tile backsplash, and a small breakfast bar. The tacky wallpaper in the master suite has been replaced with a chic grey & white striped print.
Though Buzz allowed Kevin to get beat up because he enjoyed seeing his brother suffer, he still had pride in him enough as Roy's big bully to beat up Roy for it. Roy being 4 years older than Kevin, and Buzz being 3 years older than Roy. According to Marv, kids are scared of the park when they’re alone. But he quickly set his fears aside to become friends with the legendary pigeon woman .
After Kevin discovers that the Pigeon Lady is actually a very nice person and is not scary at all, Kevin booby traps the entire place and foils the robbers, but they get to Kevin before he can escape. Chasing him into Central Park, the two attempt to shoot Kevin, but the revolver is covered in lacquer wood stain which the two got covered in earlier and won't fire. You can take your shot at booking Kevin McAllister's family fortress/McMansion starting on December 7 at 1 PM CST on Airbnb's site.
Angered, Peter sends Kevin to his room, refusing to believe his story and accusing him of trying to sabotage his relationship with Natalie, who threatens to evict him if he misbehaves again. He gets a call from his mother as and they have a nice conversation. Out for revenge, the two attempt to kill Kevin, but he defeats them by using his surroundings to his advantage. Kevin then goes to the home of his uncle, which is under renovation while they are away and still in Paris since the previous film.
What's interesting though is that audiences finally get to view the experience through the eyes of the "bad guys"… and what we see is that they aren't actually bad, they're just desperate and want what is rightfully theirs. In 1950, Kevin's parents Peter and Kate are separated after Peter became interested in a rich woman name Natalie. After having an argument over the way Buzz was treating him, Kevin runs away to spend time with his dad.
What to Watch
He told him that instead of presents, he wanted his family to come home. He later walked by a house and saw a happy family eating together.
